Carlsbad Marathon Coming up on January 23

Silver Strand Half Marathon Results
Well.... the wife and I ran the Silver Strand Half Marathon last month. Well, actually, to be honest, Marc ran it and I sort of scooted.... like an old man. Marceilla ran the last three miles backwards, taunting me with stupid dance moves while speaking to me like a puppy. But, I did not walk except for the water breaks and I made it.

Carlsbad Marathon is Approaching
Now we have the Carlsbad Marathon lined up at the end of January. To be honest, it is not going to be easy. I can just see the clean-up guys pushing me aside and tearing the number off of my chest as they pass me on foot while picking up the route cones shortly after dark.

I Need a Little Motivation
So, with all of that said, I would like to drum up some motivation. I would like all of my friends and family to pledge a dollar amount per mile for the marathon. The procedes will go to a friend of mine and his family.... these folks are known as the Caetanos... also known as the home of the San Diego Quads.

Caetano and his wife were blessed with 4 babies (yes I said 4 babies) a little over a year ago (in addition to their older son). Roberto (we call him Caetano) is also recovering from a major leg surgery just a few weeks ago that would have kept an average man on his back for several weeks. I know that they can use every little bit of help that they can get and besides; wouldn't you feel better contributing directly to a good cause without a wasteful Bureaucracy in the way?

To Make a Pledge
To make a pleadge, please just shoot me an email and I will track it from there. After the race, I will send you to an online system to submit the donation.

Remember, a marathon is 26 miles long and no amount is too small.

Thanks and Merry Christmas/Happy New Year to all of our friends and loved ones.

I found this online tool and LOVE IT!

Want to know how hard it will be to save 1 million dollars before you retire (and what 1 million dollars will be worth)?

Check it out.

The La Jolla Half was a huge success. I made everyone walk and nobody got hurt.

We have a half and full marathon lined up for November and January. I will be running to promote a worthy cause (seriously).

More to come soon... The image is a hint.
